Thrash was the mascot of the Atlanta Thrashers. He was a 6'3" Georgia brown thrasher who debuted in 1999. When the Thrashers moved to Winnipeg, Thrash was retired.
He is best known for being "arrested" in 2010 with Grand Theft Zamboni to have fans buy more tickets as he stole a Zamboni from the Thrashers' practice center in Gwinnett County, which initiated a low speed chase through the Atlanta suburbs. This was purely done as a marketing ploy, alongside the Gwinnett County Police Department. It was said that the only way to get Thrash out of jail was if they sold 5,000 tickets for the Thrashers' remaining home games of December.
